As a student of UCN, after finishing of second semester, the natural continuing of my studies was summer Internship in chosen company, I decided for a venture, providing hospitality and restaurant services in capital city of Slovakia, in Bratislava.
In my three months staying in restaurant, doing my internship, I had attractive opportunity to see a daily life of the venture, where I had worked in various positions. I had chance to see, work and observe the place in various working positions..
Restaurant Pizzeria Budkova is based in Slovakia is a medium-size restaurant serving healthy, contemporary style food. The restaurant is located at Budkova Street in Bratislava, Slovakia, close to a dense population of the target market. Pizzeria Budkova is offering a menu of food and beverages with a distinctive image.
There are three ways to purchase these products; table service at the restaurant, take-out from the restaurant, and delivery to home or office. The Pizzeria Budkova menu is moderate sized, and moderate-low priced offering a collection of ethnic and Slovak items with a common theme -- healthy (low-fat, low cholesterol, natural ingredients), flavorful, and familiar.
Been on the Internship, was a great experience, and has helped me confirm that I want to go into Hotel or restaurant business. It was an excellentexperience and helped open me up for new possibilities about my career.
The three months taught me new things. I was able to work at various working positions at the restaurant, in the kitchen and floor of the venture, I had chance to understand a bit about management, dealing with customers, and employees. I was also assigned to floor management. This position allowed me to work with a team of managers in a leadership position where I dealt with all types of different people. I worked in the office of the restaurant, that gave me opportunity to see daily paper work and contacts with suppliers.
Overall, I would recommend this experience to anyone. The internship was not only a good stepping stone for a future career in event-planning/general business operations, but an exemplary example of how to be successful in the work environment.
I evaluate my staying at the internship as a positive experience, interesting experience, where I learned to deal with responsibilities, where I learned to take the action, they have thought me to be flexible and task orientated person, I became more customer service orientated person.
Staying at the internship gave me natural outlook of authenticity of work in real environment, I learned how to seek for the challenge, how to work under supervision, and at last I understood that the key factors for being successful at hospitality industry is to naturally put together knowledge and intelligence.
