Admission requirements

General upper secondary education or international or European baccalaureate. Find your specific general admission requirements in list of foreign qualifications for entry to higher education in Denmark listed by country of graduation.

To qualify for admission applicants must have achieved a grade point average (GPA) of at least 7.0 (‘C ‘on the ECTS scale) from their qualifying upper secondary education.

If there are more applicants than availability, the applicants with the highest grade-average in this quota will be admitted. Admission will be based on the 7-point grading scale.

Applicants may also be admitted on the basis of an entrance examination. The entrance exam is based on the principle of multiple mini interviews.

Please contact the international coordinator for more information on the entrance exam.

Specific Danish language requirements

As the language of instruction is Danish on the 3rd and the 4th year of the programme, applicants must be aware that UCN requires that students have passed the Advanced Study Certificate (Studieprøven) before they reach the 3rd year of the programme.

The Advanced Study Certificate is the final examination within the Danish language class system and marks the completion of the official Danish language education.

Graduates of the Advanced Study Certificate have attained a level of proficiency in Danish that qualifies them to participate in higher education offered at Danish universities and university colleges.

Please note: It is the student's own responsibility to obtain the required Danish language requirements before admission to the 3rd year of the programme. UCN requires documentation that the student has passed the Advanced Study Certificate before the 3rd year of the programme.

UCN does not provide Danish language classes to incoming international students, but instead we refer to the Language Center for more information on the Danish language class system, Danish classes, duration of the Danish courses etc.

International applicants with no prior knowledge of Danish language and culture and no relations to Denmark prior to admission must be aware that it will require a significant effort to be a fulltime student of the BA of Education programme and parallel to the studies at UCN, also study Danish language intensively to obtain a high proficiency in Danish to be able to read and write texts at an acadamic level.

For more information, please contact the international coordinator.

New Danish language requirements will apply in 2018.
Applicants are required to document B2 Danish language proficiency prior to admission.
