Learn about the subjects and ECTS credits on the Multimedia Design and Communication programme

Programme structure

Subjects and themes are interwoven so that the students learn to apply all their skills and competences on a complex set of problems and not only on isolated single subject problems.

Incoming students therefore have to follow all activities of a semester, meaning they have to follow all 30 ECTS of one semester - students cannot be exempt from single subjects or mix subjects from different courses and different semesters.

The programme equals a total of 120 ECTS credits.

The distribution and extent of the programme’s core elements is shown in the following model: 

1st semester
Communication and presentation: 7 ECTS
Interaction development: 8 ECTS
Design and visualisation: 10 ETCS

Total: 30 ECTS
2nd semester
Communication and presentation: 8 ECTS
Interaction development: 7 ETCS
Design and visualisation: 10 ECTS

Total: 30 ETCS
3rd semester
Communication and presentation:
Interaction development: 10 ECTS
Design and visualisation: 5 ECTS
Electives: 10 ECTS

Total: 30 ECTS
4th semester
Final project: 15 ECTS

Course units

We teach four course units in the Multimedia Design and Communication programme:

Interaction Development (25 ECTS)

Front-end coding (client side), frameworks and object orientated programming (client side), back-end programming (server side) and integration with databases

Communicating and Presentation (20 ECTS)

Media theory, target group analysis, collecting and analysing empirical data, user testing, communication strategy, semiotics and media sociology

Design and Visualisation (25 ECTS)

Design and aesthetics, interface design, usability, user experience and experience design, videos and narration techniques

Business (10 ECTS)

Innovation processes, strategies, copyright, business analysis, project management and project control

Elective education components

In the 3rd semester two or more elective educational components are offered, each worth 10 ECTS credits.

This means that you can select a path for your increased specialisation.
