On this page citizens from EU countries as well as EEA countries (EEA = Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland) will learn how to apply for this Top-up Bachelor Degree programme

You can apply for admission on the Software Development programme at UCN from 1 October.

All applicants who applied in due time will be informed of their application outcome on 22 December.

How do I apply?

From 1 October you will be able to access the online application form for the top-up programmes on this page.

The application period runs from 1 October to 15 December at 12:00 (noon).

What should I upload?

You need to upload

  1. A copy of your passport or ID card
  2. Transcript of records in English with ECTS points (the last 2 semesters' marks)
  3. Documentation of your English proficiency
  4. Documentation of your exams - translated into English and signed by a notary or similar authorized person (if you have a final diploma)
  5. Motivation letter – stating why you want to go to Denmark, why Aalborg/UCN and why the specific programme you apply for
  6. Curriculum of your degree programme containing the subjects that you have followed
  7. Contracts or/and recommendations from job experience, competitions, sport activities etc. All translated into English
  8. Recommendations from your teachers (in English)

Already a student at UCN?

Then you only have to upload your application.

A student from another Danish university college?

If you have graduated from a Danish university college - or will graduate in June this year, then you have to upload the following documents:

  • Motivation letter
  • Transcript of records
What is the application deadline?

The deadline for the Software Development top-up programme at UCN is 15 December at 12:00 (noon).

 

English language entry requirements

Which English tests does UCN accept?

We accept the following English tests:

IELTS (preferred)

Overall grade of 6.0 with a minimum of 6.0 in each of the subtests

TOEFL

Internet-based test: minimum score of 85

Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English

Pass at Grade C

Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English

Pass at Grade C

Please note: If you are a non-EU citizen, you can apply with either an IELTS or a TOEFL English test.
How can I compare the different English tests?

UCN has tried to compare the official sites of the well-known and appreciated Cambridge test, TOEFL and IELTS towards the European CEFR.

Is it required to provide documentary evidence of my English proficiency?

Applicants who have a degree from one of the Nordic countries, the Netherlands or Germany, or is a native speaker in English, will only have to provide documentary evidence of their English proficiency through their school level, and we will occasionally conduct Skype interviews with the applicants.

As a minimum, all applicants must speak English at a level that is equivalent to the Danish B-level.

In relation to applicants who have a degree from other countries than the Nordic countries, the Netherlands or Germany, UCN reserves the right to demand further documentary evidence of the applicant's English proficiency according to section 9 of the Danish Ministerial Order no. 1212 of 17 December 2012 on access, enrolment and leave etc.

This documentation must be made up of one of the English tests that we recognise and may also be supplemented by a video interview conducted via Skype for example.

Which English level corresponds to a Danish B-level?

As a minimum, all applicants must speak and write English at a level that is equivalent to the Danish B-level.
